HIPAA

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act is a complex piece of legislation that has many positive protections for patients.  Most people are aware of the privacy aspects of this legislation as it pertains to medical records.  All health care providers are required to provide their patients with written guidelines regarding how their personal health information can be used and disclosed, as well as how the patient can access and revise their own medical record.  Please be assured we also have security measures in place to protect any patient information that may be stored or transmitted electronically.
